February Happenings

I have once again been delinquent in my blogging . . . so here is an entry that will give you all the highlights from February.  Hopefully I will be better this month!

We have been very busy in February and it doesn't look to be slowing down in March.  My big news is that I signed a game contract - my first contract with Cardinal Games.  That has been long in coming . . . it took almost all of last year to get that to come to a close.  This is my first closed deal with my Agent I signed with last year.  Hopefully there are many more contracts to come in 2009.  I believe the game was launched at Toy Fair (also in February).  It is for the Wizard's of Waverly Place license.  I will post again when I have more info/links etc.  My Gamewright game This Big! was also launched at Toy Fair.  Very exciting.

Also in February was Cole's Birthday!  He had his first ever slumber party!  So fun!  Photos below.

What else?  Lots of little happenings . . . many photos below . . . including our big upgrade to new a new washer and dryer set.  We are so front-loaders now.

The kids are doing great.  Henry is getting so big and talking so much in complicated sentences and Maisie is almost NINE!  Her birthday is on Wednesday.  Cole is wonderful and as cute as ever, but unfortunately has continued his injury streak.  February was a rough month.  If you are not all up on Cole's injuries to date he has already (before February) been to the emergency room or urgent care MANY times . . . he has had stitches, staples, dermabond etc etc.  I have had to call poison control and all that.  There are been MANY injuries that did not warrant a trip to the ER, but were horrible anyway.  So this month he took a header into the cement when he slipped on an icy patch while jumping on his new pogo stick and flattened his nose.  I have never seen so much blood come out of one human being before.  We did all the xrays etc and it turned out NOT to be broken, but the theory is that the only reason it wasn't was that he is young-enough that it is mainly cartilage and is still very small.  The doctor said it was the definition of a FACE PLANT.  His nose swelled up making him almost unrecognizable and later turned HULK green.  He had no recollection of the accident for about 2 days.  Anyway, he healed (with the help of some homeopathics - thanks Mikey) and after several weeks was finally looking back to normal, and then Friday night he slipped in the back yard and took a cement block in the face.  It did not need and ER visit but is a new gash across his face.  Lovely.  Josh's family has given him a new nickname: Crash Roberson.  They were all there for the accident on Friday (at an early birthday party for Maisie) and Taylor (their cousin) was there for the nose-smashing pogo-stick accident earlier this month.  Josh's family has been present at MANY of Cole's major accidents.  Anyway, he is healing once again . . . there is one photo of his newest gash, but no photos of the nose as he was just too embarrassed at how he looked with that one.  Each time I hope and pray it is the last.

And then there is work . . . work has been stressful.  The economic crunch is finally hitting my company . . . but hopefully all will turn out well.  Josh is looking at returning to work as well . . . which would bring a lot of changes to our little family.  I am looking into daycare/preschool for Henry and possibly a nanny for all three for this summer.  I never thought I would be looking for a nanny!  We will see . . .

And here are the photos . . .

Cole blowing out his candles on his birthday cake.  Note Cole is wearing his new fave outfit -- a bathrobe.  It was a b-day gift from aunt Deirdre.

Henry and cousin Dawson getting ready for Cole's birthday dinner.

One day in February Maisie and Cole felt they need to create a fort in the front yard . . . it was a nice day and the playhouse out back just wasn't what was called for.

Some doggie close-ups.

Cole showing off some of his birthday loot . . . from Nana and Papa.  Note this is February 2nd, so it is pre-faceplant.

A pic of Cole's sleep-over.  He was so excited to have his first slumber party!  It was a fun birthday party with his best buds!

Maisie got to have a friend stay the night as well . . . we didn't want to torture her with BOYS!  They didn't know I was taking this photo or I am sure they would have posed (or at least Maisie would have).

Henry and cousin Dawson jumping on the trampoline.  Henry LOVES is when Dawson comes over!

Josh's DELICIOUS scones (what are we going to eat if he goes back to work?!) and Piccolo with his favorite treat - one of my shoes!

In February Josh started readying the garden . . .

And finally our new washer and dryer . . . yay!  They finally arrived!  Our washer broke and so we decided to upgrade, but we were washer-less for about 2 weeks.  That was tough.    But now we are loving our new ones . . . although they are so fancy they make much of our other stuff look a little shabby.   Note Cole's latest facial injury . . . not big-enough for an ER visit, but I just hate seeing anything marring his little face . . . at least the swelling has gone down.

And one more photo of Henry . . . showing off the fact that there has been LOTS of cake this month.   Besides Cole's birthday, there was also cousin Luke's birthday, cousin Chase's birthday and my mom's birthday.  Lots of cake.  Seriously.
