A Carnival, A Birthday and Halloween! Oh My!
Here are some of the photos of events in the last week . . .
These first photos are from last Friday (the 24th) . . . it was Cowboy/Cowgirl day at school. Maisie and Cole dressed up. Josh took this picture before they got on the bus (it was still dark out).
Last Saturday we went to a Halloween Carnival at Maisie and Cole's school. It was a lot of fun. The kids all dressed up and I dressed up to as I was "working" at two different booths.
Henry went as a frog . . .
Cole went in his favorite pirate costume . . .
Maisie went as what she called "Shadow Woman." She put the costume together . . . she considered the carnival to be an opportunity to wear something different that was she would wear for Halloween . . .
More photos . . .
Maisie liked to show her big nails . . .
Another big event of last weekend was cleaning Maisie's room . . . it had gotten out of control. Anyway, Saturday night we peeked in to check on Maisie sleeping and saw that she had made a bed for Sheldon in her newly tidied room. We took a photo in the dark . . .
Next fun thing we did was on Sunday (the 25th). We spent a day out as a family . . . we went to Science Works in Ashland, then spent some time in Lithia Park (which is SO beautiful this time of year). Last we headed to Phoenix High School for some Ultimate. It was a league game but only seven of our team's players showed up . . . and you have to have seven on the field. So we all had to play "savage" (an ultimate term for when you have no subs). I was a little (okay a lot) bit tired by the end . . . but it was fun. I never got my body used to running/field sports! Volleyball is just a little 30'x30' box!
Here are some photos of Lithia . . .
Can you see Cole in the tree on the right?
Can you spot the deer in the photo on the right?
Monday was Josh's birthday. Happy Birthday Josh!
Part way through the party Henry wanted to take a bath (see towel at right) . . .
After giving Henry a bath he decided he wanted cake . . . I guess the bath was a little premature.
Lastly . . . I have Halloween photos! Cole dressed as a pirate again (he wears that just about every day) and Henry refused to put on his frog costume . . . so we didn't force him. He ended up in just the green shirt and pants he was going to wear under the frog costume . . . so we called him an elf. Maisie dressed as a "Japanese Princess." That was her term for her costume.
Henry was so excited to go trick or treating . . . he was dancing with excitement (photo at left). The photo at right is Henry looking into a lantern. Cole and Henry got to help light the lanterns and jack-o-lanterns . . . which were new that day as our original ones rotted before Halloween! But the kids got a kick out of carving again. It made the time go by faster before going trick-or-treating.
Okay . . . ONE more photo. My parents came on Halloween to man our door (hand out candy) so Josh and I could go around with the kids trick-or-treating (Henry got it down fast!). Anyway . . . when they came they brought Henry a box to play with. A box? Yes. And today it became a tower!
I thought these were really good pictures (especially the ones of me). I had a lot of fun on Halloween with Cole the Pirate, Henry the Frog and Rosie the Witch.
Wonderful costumes! Looks like Halloween was great this year
