Dyeing Eggs -- Pre Easter

On Thursday we dyed easter eggs.  So much fun!  Here are some photos from the event.  We dyed eggs again out at my parent's house this morning, but no photos . . .

Maisie starts a theme for her egg carton . . . PINK!

Cole's egg carton is a slightly different shade than Maisie's . . .

I love Cole's look . . .

Happy Girl . . .

Happy Easter!

For next year, I saw this really cool idea in a magazine...

Carefully wrap a rubber band (thick or thin) around the egg. Then, dip in the dye and let it dry. Once dry you can take the rubber band off and you have a really cool looking tie dye effect.

It looked in the picture like the medium thickness bands, like those one might find on a newspaper, came out the best.

    So, you know, next year!

I can say from experience that this technique does work!  Maisie, however prefers using white crayon, to draw a design or picture, before dipping in the dye.  The crayon areas remain white.  Fun, fun!
