Hanky Doodle
It was up for debate, before Henry was born, what his nickname would be. Would I give in an let him be called Hank? Or would I fight it off forever and keep him just Henry? Well I now realize it is not really up to me.
Here are the nicknames that have "stuck."Hanky Doodle (this one is preferred by Cole . . . he thinks this is how the song goes . . . Hanky Doodle went to town . . . )
H-man (this one is used mainly by Josh)
Hanky Poo (none of us can resist this one)
Hen (it just slips out of my mouth involuntarily)
Maisie is the only one who calls him Henry exclusively. And I am sure if she read this she would tell me I am wrong and that she has a great nickname for him too that I have just forgotten.

To be accurate in my nickname list I thought I should note that "Hanky-Doodle" is often shorted to just "Hanky," and "Hen" sometimes comes out as "Hen-hen."
And I have to add the our Grandpa Hank was also called Hanky, especially by his wife, Grandma Margaret. So maybe it runs in the family . . .
