SALSA!!

Josh's garden was unloading tomatoes on us recently, so Josh decided to make SALSA!  He thought it would be a fun project with the kids . . . and to make it a little MORE fun for them he decided to first make them all chef hats.  We cleaned out our garage recently and had come across a bunch of saved signs the kids and I had made (Happy Birthday! or Welcome Home! etc) so Josh and the kids used those as colorful material to make the hats.  See pictures below.  The kids obviously had a good time . . . and the salsa turned out great.  They used almost only ingredients from the garden (tomatoes, bell peppers, other peppers, onions etc) . . . just a little added salt and a couple of limes etc.  Fun, fun!  Now if we only had some chips . . .

Josh wanted me to note that in the pictures the salsa is not yet done . . . only the tomatoes and some of the onions had been added so far -- that is why the salsa just looks red (no color from the peppers etc.). He didn't want you all to think he didn't know how to make a good salsa . . . and it WAS GOOD!

Unfortunately for the neighbors, the hat was a one-time-only salsa-making deal.
