Recent Paintings

Here are some paintings I have been working on . . .

I did two "name paintings" for two babies recently (still need to do Henry's).  A long time ago I did names for Maisie and Cole on little 4" x 4" canvases.  I had the idea to do the same thing for new little baby Declan and our baby Henry.  When Deirdre saw Declan's she had me make one for her friend Erin's baby, Dillon.  I used Henry's canvases to do Dillon's, so I have yet to do Henry's.  I ordered some more canvases, so I will do his soon.  Below are Declan and Dillon's paintings.  You will see the project inspired me to do another painting with letters as well . . .

"Wordsearch" a 2 ft. square.  See all the words??  Kid inspired.

"Treehouse" another 2 ft. square.  Dream-like?  That is what I was going for.  Again, kid inspired.

I did two sets of paintings for my sister, Corinna.  The blue is the exact blue of her walls in her new condo in Atlanta.

Here is the first set of paintings (laying on my table). . . each of the 9 paintings are a foot square.

A close up of the little bird in the bottom left painting . . .

The second set of three paintings are each 30" x 20" and are supposed to be able to be hung separately, but I made them match up (the clouds) just for fun.  Below are the paintings on their own and then a shot of them together.

As many of you know I also did a painting for Erica's family of her sister, Lauren.  They asked me to do this painting after her sister was tragically killed in a car accident.  My love goes out to Erica and her family.

A couple more pictures just to show how I paint the edges of my paintings . . .

Thanks, Ali.  I wasn't planning on changing the blog design . . . there were some technical difficulties as the company running the blog made some "enhancements" to the blog product  . . . their technical support had me change the blog in hopes of solving the problems.  Anyway, hours later, it did not fix the problem (but I did figure out the problem in the end on my own) but at least I like the new look.  Glad you do too!

Rosie! Amazing! I am sure you have heard of this website, but if you want to find a wider market for your paintings (like the adorable personalized name paintings!), you should look at www.etsy.com . That is where April and I are starting the bunting biz.

One "fun fact" that I forgot to mention is that the "Wordsearch" painting contains every letter of the alphabet (besides several words).  Anyone notice that?  I didn't think so.
