Cherries!

We have some cherry trees on our side yard and Josh decided to harvest some of the cherries this year (in years past the birds have eaten every last one!).  Below are some pictures from today's picking.  So far I have made a pie, we have made several batches of cherry lemonade, Josh is making a double batch of cherry wine and we are going to freeze a bunch for smoothies.

Maisie's little hands in the cherries . . .

Maisie and Cole washing the cherries and pulling off stems . . .

Maisie and Cole with big smiles for the camera.  Note Cole's newest injury on his forehead.

Cherries . . .

Josh hard at work pitting the cherries . . .

Our Maisie . . .

And a close up of the wound as Cole blows a bubble.  This latest cut was our third trip to the ER for Cole.  He got to have dermabond (super glue) applied instead of stitches.  He was very thankful for that.  He has had stitches and a staple in the past and did not want to repeat either experience.

Love those cherry pictures...so 1940's with Maisie's little check dress and hands full of cherries in the kitchen...way cool to see such abundance...you know you are surrounded by abundance in every respect...don't you Rosie?
