Halloween 2006 -- Trick or Treat!
Happy Halloween! Josh and the kids are out trick-or-treating right now . . . I am "manning" the door (to hand out candy). We have a lot of kids in our neighborhood . . . lots of trick-or-treators. I was sure to by LOTS of candy this year. I thought I bought a ton last year and we ran out. Murphy's Law though -- haven't had all that many knocks at the door yet!
I took some pictures of the kids (and Josh) before they left . . . same costumes as when we went to the carnival, but you can see the kids are excited!!

Earlier today was fun as well . . . I volunteered in both kids' classrooms for their parties . . . this was Cole's first time being in school for Halloween, so it was very exciting. I was kicking myself that I didn't have my camera there as they had a "game" were the kids had to pick gummy worms out of pie tins full of whip cream using only their mouths. Cole was quite successful -- and very messy! In Maisie's class I was in charge of the "snack project." They wanted me to come up with a snack that the kids could "build" as an activity. Maisie and I went online and picked out some Halloween snacks. We had fun buying the ingredients and it was a big hit with the kids. We made cracker/peanut butter/pretzel spiders and frosted cookie blood-shot eyeballs. Cole came to Maisie's class for her party . . . lots of fun!

Happy Halloween!
the kids look so happy and well-adjusted...just knowing that good things will always happen to them...they are the perfect example of the principal "love what you have"...they think everything in thier lives is the best, and fully expect only the most wonderfull stuff to come thier way...I can see they love thier costumes, thier house, thier parents, thier festive routines, thier neighborhood, the exciting thrill of being out in the night with the greatest protector of all time leading them around, happy that if thier mom can't be with them, she's at home taking care of the goblins coming to thier pumkins-enhanced door. They are secure in the knowledge that not only are they loved but they actually participate in that loving enviornment by preparing sincerely in celebrations...I mean, they worked hard and very satisfactorally on Halloween Preparations...pumkin-carving, costumes, parties, trick or treating...Well done with much love coming at them and from them. You all are great examples of loving what you have!
