Questions and Answers

My brother, Michael, is taking a class (maybe child psychology?) where he needed to ask two children a set of questions and record their answers . . . so he asked Maisie and Cole.  Well, actually, he had my Mom ask them when they stayed the night at her house.  I thought the questions/answers were interesting . . . so I thought I would share them.

Question 1: Why do the stars come out at night?

Maisie: Because the sun blocks them in the day and the earth turns and then at night we can see them.

Cole: It's bedtime.

Question 2: What happens to an animal when it dies?

Maisie: Its body goes into the dirt and its spirit becomes something else.

Cole: A hiker shot it -- mean guys shoot animals.

Question 3: Where were you when your mother was a little girl?

Maisie: In an egg in her body.

Cole: With you (grandma)!

Question 4: Who turns the light off in your refrigerator at home?

Maisie: No one.

Cole: Me.

Wow- that's hilarious. Maisie is so scientifically oriented and Cole is quite the firecracker! Do you really make him turn the fridge light off at night???

I found Cole's answer to be quite truthful... because doesn't he actually turn off the fridge light in the action of closing the fridge door? It's neat to see how literal he is. And glad to see that he's not growing up to be a hunter. Although, living in the South, I could get your family a deal on a gun rack for your car.
