Children's Festival

Every summer the Jackson County Libraries put on a Children's Festival at the Britt grounds in Jacksonville.  I used to go as a kid and I take my kids every year.  This year (this morning) I took Maisie and Cole and their cousin, Luke.  We had a great time.  I took lots of pictures . . .

Here are the kids as we head out of the parking lot to walk up the the Britt grounds.  Luke is one of the cousins that lives around the corner from us.  He is eight.

The first thing the kids did was get their faces painted.  Maisie is getting a butterfly.

Luke is so full-of-it.  He is working on making a mask/puppet.

Maisie working on her mask/puppet.

Cole working on his mask/puppet.

Cole behind his finished mask (he had a little help).

 . . . and peeking out.

The three kids making noodle necklaces.

Cole in his finished necklace.

Cole in his nursery rhyme headband (moving to take it off before I could finish snapping the picture).

Every year they have two dragon trash cans . . . as you put trash in its mouth it says thank you.

Luke posing on the dragon.

All three kids with the dragon.

Maisie doing some weaving.

Here is Cole about to be put in a huge bubble . . .

Up goes the bubble . . .

And he is the bubble (as someone stuck their mask in front of the camera)!

Maisie in a tree.

Cole in a tree.

The kids exploring a cave as we head back to the van.

Luke knew that when he agreed to come that he would be getting a lot of hugs throughout the day.  Cole thinks he the coolest thing on the planet.

We had a fun day!!

Take a look at my blog called, Fred (The Litter Critter) And Friends of Children's Festival. I think you will find it interesting. Don't forget-July 20, 21 and 22nd (this year's dates for CF). Regards, Pat
