Back to only 2 Kids
Well, I got Maisie, Chase (my nephew) and Luke (my other nephew) ready for school and on the bus and I just dropped Taylor (my niece) off at school and then returned all of Taylor, Chase and Luke's stuff to their house (around the corner from our house) . . . so I am back to being a Mom of two instead of five. Since last Tuesday night I have had the kids here while their parents were in Cancun. Taylor stayed at a friends a couple of nights and Josh's Dad helped out some as well, but wow, I give a shout out to my mom who was a full-time mother of five (not just for a week!)!
Josh and I have talked a lot about having more kids -- and we still want to -- but they sure get busy as they get older! I had a schedule to follow to make sure to get the kids to track, baseball practices and games (for each boy), softball practices and games, school and other events (not to mention Maisie's dance etc.) . . . overall it was fun to have them here. Maisie and Cole loved it of course. But if we ever have five kids we will definitely need a bigger house! I am sure Taylor will be happy to be sleeping at home tonight as unfortunately she was the one who ended up on the couch instead of in a bed . . .
One thing I didn't expect was that I would turn into the homework police. I haven't had to deal with that much with Maisie yet . . . but it is a job in itself being on top of what is expected at school and helping the kids to do it. Taylor, Chase and Luke are great kids though, so it wasn't bad, but still it was a responsibility I had not yet experienced. Practice for the near future I guess!
I need to get a photo in here of the Mackey kids (Taylor, Chase and Luke) . . . we spend a lot of time with them. They are wonderful kids.
