Earth Day

Happy Earth Day!  Maisie Cole and I went to a fun earth day festival today.  Josh was on duty at the base ball fields with Maisie and Cole's cousins (we are watching them while their parents are in Cancun) so he missed out (although I am sure he enjoyed himself watching Chase play).  The kids did lots of crafts and the weather was just beautiful.  I remembered to put sunscreen on Maisie which was a big bonus. :)  The earth day festival was in Ashland (of course) . . . in the past when I spent time in Ashland for whatever reason I found myself wishing we could move back . . . but today I found that I didn't have that feeling.  That is a good thing.  Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful time and Ashland is a wonderful town with many things to offer, but I found myself thinking about being a part of a community LIKE Ashland, not Ashland itself.  Josh and I have been talking about McMinnville.  I think we are going to take a road trip up there soon and check it out.  Anyone have any comments about McMinnville?  We have been wanting to find a community that we can see ourselves in for a long time . . . where our kids can grow up and where we will still be when they come home from college and eventually when they are grown up with their own kids.  A small town that still has a lot going on . . . preferably with a college in town and lots of arts and cultural activities.  A town where people walk and ride their bikes and know each other.  A town where the majority of people do NOT live in tract homes but homes with front porches and tree lined streets.  If anyone has any other town suggestions let me know . . .  and again, happy earth day! :)  Remember to recycle and choose renewable energy sources if you can . . .

    Earth Day
Since our President can't grasp the fact that global warming exists, we have to make our children aware of the earth and how precious it is.  As they grow, maybe they can come up with the answers. My generation has trouble with the emergency of the situation.  That's my Earth Day + editorial.
